Implant-Supported Dentures in Palm Desert
Stable and Beautiful Full-Arch Tooth Replacement
Dentures have traditionally been used to replace a full arch of missing teeth and up until recently were the only option available. However, dentures have many disadvantages. They continually slip, can make noises while you eat or speak, and they provide very little chewing power. Wearing dentures accelerates bone loss in your jaw which can make you look older than you really are. Progressive bone loss also causes dentures to become more and more loose-fitting over time, resulting in the need for multiple relines and refits until at last, no denture will fit well anymore.
Modern technology has made it possible to eliminate these disadvantages by supporting dentures with dental implants. Implants hold the dentures stably in place and significantly increase chewing power. Depending on your needs, dentures can either be permanently fixed onto the implants or be designed in such a way that they snap onto implants but can be removed by you at any time.

Our Stable and Lifelike Implant-Supported Dentures
Implant-supported, fixed-in New Teeth in a Day
Dr. Bergmann uses five to eight strategically placed implants to support a full set of new teeth that are stably fixed-in and provide close to natural chewing power. These new teeth will not slip or irritate your gums, and have no false palate to dull your sense of taste. He will meticulously create your new teeth so they are durable, fit perfectly and look very natural and aesthetic.
Dr. Bergmann can fabricate your new teeth from a variety of high-quality materials. Depending on your preferences and budget, he can use porcelain, zirconia (a type of very strong, durable porcelain), acrylic or a combination of these elements. Replacement teeth that use acrylic are commonly called implant-supported dentures, and teeth made only of porcelain are often referred to as implant-supported bridges. Depending on your needs, implant-supported teeth can be made with or without an artificial gumline.
Thanks to modern procedures, most patients can get any necessary extractions and receive implants and functional new replacement teeth, all on the same day!
Implant-supported removable dentures
Dr. Bergmann also provides implant-supported removable dentures. He will place a series of implants in your arch to hold your denture in place and provide stability. The underside of your new denture and the top of the implants will be fitted with attachments that allow the denture to snap snugly onto the implants and yet still be removable at any time.
Your denture will not slip, will not need adhesives to stay in place and your chewing power will be boosted. This is a significant improvement over regular dentures and a more economical option compared to a permanently fixed-in set of teeth. It is a good option for many patients, though a set of fixed-in new teeth provides the greatest gains in chewing power.
