Porcelain Veneers in Palm Desert

Porcelain Veneers

Dr. Bergmann will match your porcelain veneers to your natural tooth color to provide the most aesthetic results.

Beautiful Veneers for a Bright, Natural-Looking Smile

Porcelain VeneersPorcelain veneers are very thin tooth-shaped porcelain covers that are bonded to the front surfaces of your teeth to cover any chips, blemishes or discolorations. They can also be used to close gaps between your teeth and to give mildly crooked teeth the appearance of being straight. They are a fast and long-lasting cosmetic solution that can improve your smile dramatically.

Experienced cosmetic dentists

Dr. Bergmann and Dr. Izu each have 30 years of experience at placing veneers and have great skill in the creation of veneers that are completely lifelike and aesthetic. They have both attended regular advanced training at the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry since the early 1980s and routinely implement new technologies and procedures as they are developed, to provide the highest quality results available.

Top-quality dental lab

Part of their success with veneers comes from working with a top-quality dental lab. For veneers, our doctors use the DaVinci lab in Beverly Hills, a premier lab renowned as the pioneer and world leader in cosmetic veneers. DaVinci was the first to introduce cosmetic veneers to Hollywood, and their veneers have been featured on TV shows such as ABC’s “Extreme Makeover” and Fox’s “The Swan.”

Our Porcelain Veneers Procedure

Our doctors are meticulous at each step of your treatment to ensure your veneers will be well-fitting, beautiful and long-lasting and that you are totally happy with the results.

Consultation and plan

After a full exam, the doctor will discuss your goals for your smile. You will be able to determine how you want your new teeth to look as part of the consultation, and we have many charts and before-and-after photos to assist you in your decision. The doctor can also sculpt an easily removable white dental material on your teeth to show you how your new smile could look. The doctor will answer all your questions and together you will formulate your cosmetic treatment plan.

Initial preparation

Porcelain Veneers

Our doctors use digital photographs to assist with the planning of your porcelain veneers.

The doctor will take full digital photos of your teeth and smile to help determine the right shade for your veneers. The doctor will make an impression of your teeth to create a study model of your smile.

This model will be used to design your veneers with the correct size, shape and alignment with your bite. This includes making them large enough to fit just below your gum line and thus look completely natural.

When extensive cosmetic work is involved, the doctor may also create a “wax-up”—a wax model of what the final result will look like. You will have a chance to preview your new smile and give your approval to the final design before any work on your teeth begins.

Tooth preparation and temporaries

Your teeth will be prepared by removing some of the front surface enamel so that your veneers, when placed, will look completely natural and will not make your teeth look thicker. An impression of your prepared teeth is then made for the lab to use in creating your veneers.

You will have temporary veneers placed, which you will wear while your final veneers are being created. They will be made to look very natural and similar to your final veneers.

Options for Replacing Missing Teeth

We will make sure that your veneers will look natural and allow you to smile with confidence.

When we receive your permanent veneers, the doctor will have you come back to our office for final placement. Your temporary veneers will be removed and your teeth cleaned, after which the doctor will pretest the final veneers on your teeth. This is done using a temporary gel that is the same color as the dental cement that will be used to bond your veneers in place permanently.

You will be able to see how your new veneers look under different lighting conditions. We even have special mirrors outside our office so you can see your teeth as they appear in natural daylight.

Final placement

Any adjustments that might need to be made are done first. After you give final approval, your veneers are permanently cemented into place. Your new veneers will give you a greatly enhanced smile you will be proud of!

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is a tooth-colored resin that can be applied to your teeth to cover up or repair small cosmetic or structural flaws.

Although dental bonding does not last as long as porcelain veneers and loses its shape and finish over time, it is good for a quick fix. Our doctors will use dental bonding as an economical alternative to porcelain veneers in certain cases. They can examine you and let you know if dental bonding will work as an option for what you would like to achieve.
